It usually depends. I haven't ridden in a while purely due to time restraints with school but when I can I try to ride to Busse and back. For me it's about 25-30 mile excursion considering I loop twice and head home. I try to do that loop only on weekdays because it gets way to crowded during the weekend.
Also I ride through and around Lake Zurich alot. It's not that far of a ride for me (15-18 miles) but it's a good climbing workout considering alot of Lake Zurich is somewhat hilly.
One other ride I do on occasion but very seldom is from my place out to Buffalo Grove's Park Frisbee Golf Course. I know there's a pool by there but I can't think of what it's called. It's a good leisure ride (14 miles) considering most of it is through a very affluent neighborhood and at the end right before the course, there's a Llama farm that always has a few Llamas outside so that's always really fun to do. It runs parallel to Lake Cook Rd. by 53
Unfortunately Busse isn't cleared off at all. If you have a cyclocross or if you run at all it is a blast though. Unfortunately tough, Chi-town's weather doesn't look like it's going to be very cooperative no matter what so riding Busse could be out for at least a month or so.
