    $12 and a possible date? You're on.

it sounds like you have a quick release seat post collar.

all you have to do is spin the nut a few turns to make it tighter then clamp the lever down. It should be somewhat difficult to do but should NOT require all your strength to release or secure.

If you don't have a quick release then find yourself a 3,4 or 5mm allan key and tighten it.

It's quite simple and you probably won't break anything so don't worry.

Gratz on starting out!!! It might be slow going at first but you'll get there. If you're trying to loose weight don't try to loose more than 1lb a week--your body needs time to adjust to the weight loss or you'll be prone to "yo-yoing" with your weight. I also strongly suggest getting to a gym and starting to work out.

did you get that stuff fixed?

check the distance between the magnet on the wheel and the sensor. should be under 3mm. sometimes the magnet gets turned around or bumped. then check the wiring (if its wired) from the sensor up to the mounting bracket--if it's frayed time to buy a new one. if that's ok, theck the mounting bracket. steel wool the contact pads, make sure the 'puter is in the bracket correctly and has a good battery. if that doesn't work reset the computer and re-program the wheel data and stuff in it.

all that fails go buy a wireless puter.

i noticed your beginning cyclist post and i am in the same place you are ... so i was wondering whether you would be interested in training together.

I am rather new to biking, but I've been riding to and from work and some longer weekend rides. I'm definitely a newbie, but I surprised myself this weekend by actually doing the longer Boulevard Ride this weekend. I live near Belmont and Broadway and yes, it would be good to get riding earlier in the morning and weekends anytime is good for me.

I also prefer the lakefront trail as I live right by Belmont and Sheridan. Where are you coming from? I will be volunteering for Chainlink this Saturday at IIT. Do you maybe want to try and get together Sunday morning for a ride?

Yes, they sure are! Two buns and a hotdog.

    Gar! Neat? Me?
Take a look at my website staceyearley.com--there are a bunch of illustrations there. If you like them...boy, I sure don't have much time for art work these days but I don't mind having my brain picked! Anytime!
