I'll definitely be posting here (or anyone else can) if I'm at the computer. On our first gathering, we can discuss identifying badges, patches, or possibly hankies so we can spot each other around town, and also, begin establishing our turf.

Woot Woot! I live in Humboldt Park and would love to go on a ride sometime with the group, I was in an accident the friday before this last friday so i should have my new bike and be ready to ride in a few days.

I spotted no less than seven cute tattooed bicycle boys in or around Food Smart on Armitage yesterday and thought to invite them to join the gang. Then I thought, "what if they're a rival gang???"

Woo hoo! Two new members! Howdy Laura! Hi Ian! Welcome to the gang! Well... I know tweeting has developed a bad reputation and to be honest, I'm not much of a mad tweeter myself. I mainly feed my tumblr posts to my twitter, and rarely hassle my followers with useless information about my day. But, my whole scheme is to find a way to summon the gang when NOT at the computer. Rather, if one of us is riding through the 'hood and looking to gather up and grab a drink with a few friends, just text message the feed and let nearby bikers know you are down for a drink at your favorite watering hole. You do text message don't you?
I promise you, if you sign up, you'll never have to spend time using twitter for other crap if you don't want to. It's all about controlling the technology to do our bidding.
I've looked into other websites that do a similar thing and foursquare is the next closest thing, but I'm not sure how I feel about their setup.

Ruby, I am proud that I have neither tweeted nor received a tweet. Hoping to retain my neophyte status, I am optimistic that you will forward or double post to the chainlink. My schedule varies, and I am frequently available for weekday and late night rides - this is a great idea. Thanks!
