I also rode the century, and ran into Kathy and Suzy on the following day. I unfortunately did not run into any of the Team Team, and missed seeing Craig.
My bottom bracket fried on Wednesday, so I am now at home. :-(
Hope you all are having a great time. I know I had a fantastic time for the first 4 days.
I got a phone call saying my basement is flooded. I guess I'm glad somebody else is cleaning up the mess. The Red Cross is opening shelters in Chicago for people who have lost their homes because of the flooding.

How's everything? I just saw a news report about a dam failing. Has any of the flooding/ heavy rain affected you guys?
In the Team Team van with the crew half-way across Iowa as I'm writing this. Seri, Brett, Kelly, Michael, Dan, Katie, Aaron, Sol, Laurie. Our van has wifi, not bad. Just passed a bus-full of fellow Ragbraiers.
I've got my bike all set, and will be driving over tomorrow morning.
I put a Chainlink logo on the RAGBRAI bike tag ("Hi, I'm Joe, I'm from Chicago, Long time listener, first time rider"), so be sure and give a shout out if you see the logo.
I did the century a few years ago on an extremely hot day and the only thing that made it possible to finish was an ice cold can of Full Throttle. Anything with taurine will do the same and you'll feel great all evening. Put some of it in your water bottle to make that taste different after so many plain waters.
I don't expect the century loop to be an easy sell to my wife given how little seat time we've gotten in so far this summer. But if it's a nice day and the winds at our back...
