Starting to consider route options for Massoween this Friday. Here's a map with start (Daley Plaza), primary end (TheChainLink.org party) and all of Chicago's ghost bikes (for spookiness).
Now to plot a roundabout path, someone else please? http://goo.gl/maps/iofr3
I've transcribed AceMann's route to Google Maps. Garwins can snag the KML there: http://goo.gl/maps/8yNgY
I also transcribed the cues (turn-by-turns): http://massup.us/ccm/n
And the whole shebang's on massup: http://massup.us/route
It's 16 miles south to the food depository, then 16 miles back N to the blinkee art thing. We'll have to keep up a pace...
A little rain on the Friday, 8/30/13 ride, but I took a few pictures before the ride started:

Yes, MikeyMike, the Mass will take place this Friday, March 29th.
"Chicago Critical Mass starts downtown Chicago, rain or shine, the LAST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH at 5:30pm. If you're a wee bit late, don't sweat it (too much) as the Mass often takes a bit of time getting going.
The ride gathers in Daley Plaza around the Big Picasso."
(I think you'd be fine getting to Daley Plaza by 6:00--I don't think it ever leaves before 6. But part of the fun is chatting & hanging around the plaza beforehand, checking out the other bikes.)

If you have a smartphone, point your browser at
http://massup.us/ccm/u on Friday, to see real-time chat about the ride.
So whats up people? Is there gonna be a mass going on this Friday? Im looking for info and cant seem to find any? :/ Want to get my first Critical Mass in the books!
Any body pick up the Winter/Spring edition of Columbia mag and read the article on the female who was doored over 10 years ago and CCM got her back into riding?
Good stuff.

Does anybody have a bike connected to a generator that we might be able to borrow for an event this sunday? We're trying to figure out some basic logistics mixing on-foot marches with people who show up on bike, possibly splitting off for a ride if we have enough of a critical mass. I have a very portable amp, a microphone (and a loop pedal!) that could make it possible to have a really >>moving speech>> and/or rhythmic energy to make our voices heard about the Keystone XL Pipeline and what we're calling #KXLternatives as well. Check out the facebook event and let me (isaac) know in the comments if you know about connecting to a bike generator.... thanks yall!
Thanx! In case anyone else wants to followup on the multi-year plot, maybe best on my thread at http://www.thechainlink.org/photo/plot-of-25-months-of-chicago-crit...
There I also just published some details, and another 25 month plot of North Side Critical mass.
