dunno why im just seeing the foot rest thing...but this is a very practical thing.  not only is it great for the 'hi, fellow cyclist' factor, or to have a way of staying saddled while at a light, but its a great indicator for where bikes should be stopping (like the white line for automobiles), and a good barrier against them jay-walking pedestrians we try not to crash into.

that foot rest is cool, but i always clip out my left foot! what about me!?!?!?

wow..that foot rest is pretty cool... not sure that it is really needed... but would like more safety for bikers in the city... too much "road rage" between bikers and Cyclists... :(

Maybe we could get someone to fabricate some out of pipes, pvc, wood or something of the sort. Have people drill them into the corners at night. Doubt they would last but maybe they'd give the city some ideas of what cyclists need

Agreed.

Who wants to take a trip to Copenhagen to steal all their neat cyclist stuff?

that's brilliant! I hope things like this start showing up in Chicago.

In the City of Copenhagen there are railings next to the curb at stoplights with foot rests for cyclists that say, "Hi, cyclist! Rest your foot here... and thank you for cycling in the city."

Same...and @ Cullen. I deliver Management Training seminars for a company called ProBuild. It takes me across the country to all kinds of strange locales...

You are a train commuter if you use the train to go places.
It does not matter exactly where and why you use the train.
It is the same for biking.
vote.
same? or lame?

Aaron,

You use the bike when you reach your destination, right? That's very noble of you!

What do you do for a living?
