Ride of Silence - May 18, 2016 - One day. One time. World wide.

Join the annual Ride of Silence, an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

Save the date for the 2017 Chicago Ride Of Silence - May 17, 2017

Our route typically passes several Ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

Ride reports are already streaming in. At best - I got a count of 126 riders in Chicago.... and just found out Peoria had 136.

Peoria outdid Chicago in #s? wow!

I will be there but I'll be hustling to get there by 7.

I haven't seen much publicity for the ride beyond this group (typically groups are read only by a very small number of people) so coupled with the weather my guess is somewhere in the 50-70 range.

I was just about to post the Yehuda link when I saw yours.  The Evanston ride will take place rain, shine or moon.  Nice misty ride in this morning.

Chicago will have a post-ride gathering this year at Hamlin Park; ride ends at one corner of the park and we'll gather at the park building (3035 N Hoyne).

Attention: Chicago ROS participants -- this ride begins at Daley Plaza and ends at the corner of Damen and Wellington in Lakeview at Hamlin Park. Paulina EL stop (brown line) is nearby as well as several bus options if you don't want to ride back; bike maps will be available too.
