Ride of Silence - May 15, 2024 - One day. One time. World wide.

Join the annual Ride of Silence, an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

Save the date for the 2025 Chicago Ride Of Silence - May 21, 2025

Our route typically passes several Ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

DATE: May 15, 2024 (always the 3rd Wednesday of May)
TIME: Gather at 6:00 pm
WHERE: Hundreds of locations world wide; Dickens Greenway Plaza in Lincoln Park, Chicago
One day. One Time. World wide.

Communities throughout Chicagoland participate in the Ride of Silence including: Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, Evanston, Joliet, Oak Park and Peoria.

Wherever you ride, we ride in unity.

Does anyone have contacts at the Mayor's Office to invite BOTH the outgoing and incoming Mayors to ride with us in the Chicago ROS? Or to at least come show their support at Daley Plaza?

Is this the info? If so... it's a bit further south:

Just sent a post to the Ghost Bike list too.

ROS route currently visits ghost bikes at points A & C on this map - http://bit.ly/iF39OS

This ghost bike would be near point B, I think - based on info in the article.

Bill Watson will be leading a Ride of Silence in Oak Park. The ride starts at the Oak park Cycling Club starting point at Lake and Oak Park Ave on 5/18 at 7:15pm.

If you can't make the ride in Chicago.  There are rides in Oak Park, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Joiliet, Downers Grove, Urbana, and Peoria.  There are rides in 300 other cities world wide.
