Ride of Silence - May 15, 2024 - One day. One time. World wide.

Join the annual Ride of Silence, an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

Save the date for the 2025 Chicago Ride Of Silence - May 21, 2025

Our route typically passes several Ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

DATE: May 15, 2024 (always the 3rd Wednesday of May)
TIME: Gather at 6:00 pm
WHERE: Hundreds of locations world wide; Dickens Greenway Plaza in Lincoln Park, Chicago
One day. One Time. World wide.

Communities throughout Chicagoland participate in the Ride of Silence including: Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, Evanston, Joliet, Oak Park and Peoria.

Wherever you ride, we ride in unity.

Anyone going to the new Mayor's inauguration? Pass him an ROS flyer and invite him to ride with us to show his support for safe cycling in Chicago.

Ride of Silence now has rides in all 50 states.  The last two (Utah and Idaho) registered today.  There are rides in many other countries around the work. New in 2011 Bucharest Romania.  By riding with us on Wednesday, you join many thousands of other cyclists riding on Wedneday at 7PM local time to make cyclists visible and honor those who have perished.

If you have your armband from last year, please wear it night-of the ride.

Riders are encouraged to wear a red armband as a crash survivor and/or black to honor our fallen riders.

Some bands will be available night-of at Daley Plaza; contributions welcome.

Please - all riders - if you would like to set out a candle at the ghost bikes the night of the ride, please bring candles and matches with you.

think we can get a sign like this printed for the Chicago ROS and have a pedicab or such pull it as the lead of this year's Ride?

(sorry if you need fb to view this image)

Do we still have our pedicab from last year to be our Caboose with our current ROS banner?
