Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Up-to-date map (with a list, postal- and web-addresses and phone numbers, where available). Five hundred thirty (530!) so far.

Great! I'm working on The Most Complete List of breweries around and in Chicago, will post it here and wait for corrections, like, which ones I missed.

You go Chris! And we here in the OP are more than happy to offer Daughton House (near Blue Line Austin Stop) as a staging area before, during, or after!

Looking forward to joining some rides!  Thanks for setting this up Serge!

Hmmm . . . Not exactly beer-related, though I like it ;)

Testy, Serge, Testy.

Perhaps this little tidbit from Knoxville

(somewhere along the downtown greenway under a bridge),

will chill you out.
IMHO it would make a dandy mascot/logo for our august group!

Garth, every brewery near Chicago is on our list. It's in the Articles, look it up! ;)

Raul, I hope so, too. And, as I heard, Half Acre has opened their tap room recently (they only had a tasting tap before, where you can try before you buy a growler to go), and Revolution Brewing also has a tap room now, in addition to their brewery/restaurant.

I hope 5 Rabbit's Tap House opens early this year. That would be another good one on the south side...

I hear what Duppie's sayin, but we can navigate by streets near the IPP. Also, is 18th St. Brewery in Gary on our list. More info here!

Good idea, Duppie. I've been only to Mickey, so far, in that direction.

. . . Speaking of breweries, history of brewing and beer drinking in Chicago, as well as other interesting things, Forgotten Chicago is having their meetup at the Haymarket Brewing tomorrow night.

RSVP here, if you're interested.
