Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Up-to-date map (with a list, postal- and web-addresses and phone numbers, where available). Five hundred thirty (530!) so far.

But then again, we have one coming up next week too, don't we? The Not Exactly Swizerland ride?

So, maybe I'll wait. We'll see

Me too! I've been itching for a long ride

I don't want to create an official event for this, 'cuz I'm on call Monday the Memorial Day. If the company doesn't need me . . . would anyone be interested in riding to Algonquin along this route, with the ultimate destination at The Village Vintner (they'll be open)?

ABC was great. I tried all the beers I wanted to try, and managed not to get too drunk for a ride back home ;)

Jared, you're probably right. Knocking off the Arrowheads . . . Will post soon.

The big beer ride (in distance if not number or riders), Morgan, will happen this Saturday . . . Just sayin' ;)

I would be up for that in mid-July (other than July 13th - Tour due fat)

Sounds good.  I'd knock off the Manhattan one and save that one for when we visit the one in Bourbannais (it seems like it would be on the route).

A possible future ride (late June? Mid-July?): Three Angels, Nevin's, Chicago Brew Werks, Arrowhead Ales.

Take Metra to Aurora Saturday morning, the pedal along this route. Last train to Chicago from Manhattan leaves at 4:40 p.m., so it would probably be better to backtrack the last leg to Joliet.

Any thoughts?
