Just want to give a thanks to Garth (snowflake chainring ), Alex (bicycle snowflake), Annemarie (graphic design diva for logo and website overhaul) and Howard (first responder for logo drafts, requests and overall coordination). Bike Winter: it takes a shivering village!

Hi Annemarie,

Nice logo. Tks for contributing to the cause.

I knew from my spies at the AMA that you (and Jef) were still at the news, but I didn't know that you were a cyclist, much less a hardcore winter cyclist. Do tell! - Greg

Hi Howard,

Here's the square version of the logo you requested. It will take care of some of the pixelation you are seeing on the type.

I also sent it to you via email.

Looking at it from my phone so things may be skewed...but...

Them chicago stars? If so. Isn't BW beyond chicago? If it is chicago, id say using only 4 stars.

Spacing of chainring teeth looks off...but could be my phone.

Otherwise...great

Holly, who is tackling her first bike winter, stayed in the saddle this week. Yay, Holly! Feel free to give her some encouragement by leaving comments on her blog post: http://bikewinter.org/node/108

Anyone biking tomorrow? Should be fairly chilly in the morning. I'm hoping my scuba diving gloves cut the wind significantly.

thanks for the tips. especially construction gear!! i just picked up some double-lined ragg wool gloves at menards for $4.99. there was a jacket i was eyeing too - i'm going to be the littlest lumberjack ever.

Ironika--Nothing wrong with being slow...
I love Smartwool products. Their socks are my favorites. I also like wool base layers. I have Smartwool long underwear & a pair of tights on order.

If you're looking for good gift suggestions and don't have a nice light, that's something you'll need.

One tip I recently picked up from a friend was to look at cross country skiing, snowboarding, and running gear. Often times, these winter sports reach a wider audience and the gear is a little less expensive than things targeted strictly for cycling.

I still need to solve my boot problem...the ones I have are probably too tight. (Good to buy a size up in boots and gloves so that your circulation can flow and you're not being squeezed.)

If anything I buy seems worthy of a review, I'll definitely post it on the blog.

I'm going to add a Kidical Mass ride (Santa and Dreidel edition!) for December 11th with a bikewinter tag. Keep your peepers peeped. Dressing up and merriment encouraged!
