If you're not concerned about breathability, my Helly Hansen Zero has done the trick for years.
If you are, I'm also a huge fan of my SWRVE Milwaukee Hoodie.

The problem with jackets is you're going to get wet either way. If you go with a total hardshell, you'll be soaked with sweat because they don't breath at all. If you go softshell or Gore, eventually it will soak through, because they do breath. That's just the nature of the beast.

has anyone purchased or used a Loki jacket. I usually just layer when it gets cold and I do fine, but I want something just amazingly waterproof. Any suggestions, I'd prefer just a hard shell to keep out water completely?

My gloves beg to differ on this "not winter" bullshit

Hey Gin,
Great workshop! Thanks for the gaiter -- it came in handy this morning.

Hi folks,

Thanks so much to the scissors brigade--Willow, Jami, Dan, Rachel and Lisa--we were able to make quick work of my piles of fleece, so we will have plenty of head/neck gators to give out at Sunday's workshop.

We are in need of a few helpers:

1) santa--to help give out the freebies (we have a costume if you don't)
2) someone to talk a bit about bike maintenance in winter (we can help coach you*)
3) someone willing to do the get layered demo
4) folks in general to bring some of their favorite gear

Michael and I can cover all the material ourselves, but it is more fun to have more voices involved. If you do want to help out, or want to learn more about leading a BW class, come on by our house for breakfast beforehand. 9am, in Logan Square (call 773.252.4657 for address), to help plan. Please let me know if you want to help and come for breakfast. (But you don't need to come to our house if you want to help at the workshop!!)

*we are looking for more folks who are comfortable leading BW workshops, and are happy to help you develop your workshop leading skills.

Best,

Gin
