Who is riding Le Tour de Shore and where are you stopping?

I signed up and decided I wanted to ride the most miles the first day, so I am going to Michigan City. You might remember that my idea of camping is a Holiday Inn, so I am going to stay in a motel. Who else is going? Anyone who rides slow going all the way to Michigan City on day one?

Lisa - I am registered (but my idea of camping is camping lol) but correct me if I'm wrong; but the most

miles are the first day for everyone, right ? isn't it around 60 or so miles friday and only around 40

on saturday ? and for the "hotel campers" in the past they had shuttle busses arranged to get

the hotel/motel folks to and from there dinner destinations (as well as the tent campers). I guess

I could check the website again; but you really should plan to join the other cyclists for the group

dinner option friday night. Isn't Michigan City pretty close the Indiana Dunes state park ? Or maybe

I am confused (again) ???

I think they do have shuttle buses, and if I don't collapse into a heap of jello when I arrive I definitely plan to join the group for dinner. Except that it looks like you campers get dinner where you are and we motel mopes go to a place called Crawfords in Michigan City. Michigan City is about 70 miles according to the web site. The campsite is about 57 miles.

Anyone (female) up for maybe sharing a motel room in Michigan City? I'm on the fence about going and not having to pay for all of a crappy motel room would be a strong incentive! Prices for rooms w/2 beds were barely more than those with single beds.
