I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Seems to me these may not meet road design setup by the city.

I can't believe a plant can be that close to a roadway. and the cinders in the road are dangerous. 

Contact the city department of transportation.

I don't usually take Wells in the evening, but yesterday had the opportunity to ride that route... taxi-o-rama from Division to North. I see $450 in revenue for the city right here.

Walking back to my office and I see this Amazon delivery driver pop in to the Dearborn bike lane at the Westin driveway and keep driving toward Kinzie. Ironically, there are "Bike Lane Closed" signs there.

This morning on southbound Elston at Montrose. There is a school here, Greenfields Academy, and all too frequently parents block the bike lane to drop off their kids. I tagged them in a tweet and posted on their Facebook page, and they responded that they've sent a memo to parents reminding them not to stand or park in the bike lane - very glad they did so.

Sudden construction on Dearborn is setting a new low bar on consideration for cyclists.  On repaved segments asshole drivers are quick to imagine the as yet not repainted bike lanes are free parking.

It's pictures like this that make me certain the "learning curve" that CDOT loves to cite when it comes to new bike lanes and driver behavior is bunk. The Dearborn Lane has been around a while now. I don't buy the argument that every one of these drivers came from the burbs and hasn't ever seen it. Rather, they are just so entitled to parking that any open road space is, unless aggressively shown otherwise, theirs. 

If there isn't anything painted, can you blame them?

Shoot. I was kind of hoping since the bike lanes weren't being milled last week a concrete curb might be planned to better isolate the bike lane.

I would call this "poor planning by streets & facilities (even if the paving itself is contracted out)" As someone else mentioned, how are drivers supposed to know?
Cities need to have bike an ped advocates on EVERY project. Even better, there should be a process: zoning code for a new building? bike racks. perhaps indoor storage, if on a hill (especially) and there is expected to be a negative impact on traffic, perhaps a bike lane.

Paving a road? checklist: pedestrians have safe access through the crosswalk(S).

There should be a process---your S&F people are not considering needs of people on bikes before and during the process.
