Hello everyone,
My friend and I are thinking of biking to Milwaukee for the fourth of July, this will be our first bike trip to Milwaukee any tips or words of wisdom? I asked because we did a long bike ride to Dekalb, IL two weekend ago using google bike maps and we ended up going about 10 miles north than we needed. So any advice on routes, tips to Milwaukee it would be greatly appreciated.

Stay west of Racine, it is much more relaxed if you go north on roads like Co. Hwy Ea (which you get to by going west on 38th St./Washington Rd in Kenosha), 90th, Wisconsin St., County Rd. H which turns into Howel / 38. You will end up going through the General Mitchell Airport then it's not too far to Milwaukee from there. The Robert McGlory trail gets you all the way up to the south side of Kenosha, it's all roads after that point.
Most important advice: go the the Lakefront Brewery tour, get tickets online in advance.
Thanks, thepuppies. Let me ask you, are the neighborhoods safe up there? I made it up to Zion last Friday and turned back. I'm just wondering if I head up next week if there are areas to avoid.
Thanks in advance.

It's a safe ride the entire way. The only time I felt unsafe was due to rode traffic around Racine.
