Preserving (N+1)=(S-1): Bike shop allegedly offering "spouse receipt"

In what is being described as a "genius" bit of salesmanship the service would allow customers to change the price of a purchase on the receipt and, if true, would add a new level of subterfuge to spousal cycle spending transparency.

Or just bring it home and put it in the back of wherever you store your bikes ('cuz I know you don't store your bikes outside) and then when you finally pull it out some time later and are asked "When did you get that?" you can honestly say "Oh, I have had this for a while!"

It certainly helps that cycling is a healthy and green activity. Compared to all the other options for spending time and money bikes are an approved obsession. I pretty much have a cycling hall pass. She just shakes her head when I stare and say, "what a nice bike!" oblivious to the physique of it's rider. Of course that might change if I ever lusted for a newer, lighter, hand crafted trophy bike.
