I'll second that opinion. 33rd is much nicer. And the food at Nana's is excellent. If you ever want to make a daytime trip, their breakfasts are great, too.

Also, once you exit at 31st street, make your way to 33rd as soon as you can to continue west-- it's much more pleasant than 31st.

No al fresco options in Chinatown that I can think of. But you can always get some char siu and noodles to go and chow down at Ping Tom Park.

Connie's Pizza on Archer Avenue (at Normal?) has a pretty good-sized patio out front. If you like the "cheese in a bread bowl" style of pizza, that's not a bad spot. And who doesn't like pizza and beer after a good ride?

Pleasant House bakery next to Maria's has some excellent meat pies that are worth the trip. There's not much seating inside but you can take your food over to Maria's and enjoy it with a drink.

Outdoor dining options are definitely limited in Bridgeport. There are some spots with sidewalk tables near Sox stadium/Armour Square Park (on 33rd between Wells and Shields), and though I've ridden past them plenty I can't say I was ever inclined to stop in. I don't know much about the places, but they seem to be sports bars and may have food.
I'd suggest you get takeout from the Potsticker House on Halsted near 32nd, and take your food to Stearns Quarry Park (29th and Halsted) or Maria's Packaged Foods and Community Bar (31st and Morgan). Maria's would only be appropriate if you had some drinkers in the bunch, but they have a lovely interior and a recently-opened back patio with a few large tables, not to mention $1 off cocktails on Wednesdays. Other suitable-for-takeout options near Maria's include two taquerias on Halsted near 33rd, Zaytune Mediterranean at 31st Place and Morgan, and the Pleasant House Bakery next door to Maria's.

Disclaimers: Bike parking at Maria's is not ideal, but there are racks across the street outside the Bridgeport Coffee House. Those two taquerias are nothing special; food from Zaytune can take a while so you may want to pre-order; and the Pleasant House pastries are not huge, so you may need more than one after a long ride.

I don't know Chinatown that well, but if you want to head up to Pilsen, Simone's bar at 18th and Morgan has good food and a few tables on the sidewalk.
Carbon (Mexican) 300 W 26th.…tag:thechainlink.org,2011-07-25:2211490:Comment:3904222011-07-25T19:21:03.351ZThunder Snowhttps://thechainlink.org/profile/Thunder_Snow
