Just received this email:

Greetings,

I am writing to share important news with you about a new, short-term closure of the Centennial Trail. I hope that you will spread the word to your network, so that together, we can ensure that trail users are well informed.

Starting today, and continuing through September 30 the connection between the Centennial Trail and John Husar I&M Canal Trail at the IL Route 83 bridge is closed while the Illinois Department of Transportation makes improvements. This new closure affects the current alternate route put in place while a portion of Centennial Trail is closed.

The Forest Preserve will provide regular updates on the IDOT work here:http://fpdcc.com/preserves-and-trails/trail-closures/ You also can view a map of the site here:http://goo.gl/ObV0Qh.

We have installed informative signage at the trail and appreciate your support of our efforts to get the word out. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Kindy
