I see rope attached.  Can you lock it as well?

That's cool. Good to see a bike-friendly landlord. How are the bikes locked?

Great use of space- two thumbs up.

So far only locked with a ulock on wheels but he is installing a metal bar through the middle for locks.

The rope is bungy to secure on windy day Julie.

h'- always the stickler! ;)

I simply meant that I admired the repurposing of that tight-squeeze space for use as a bike rack.

All other tenants, of course, should have easily accessible parking available to them as well.

You can use those bathroom "disability bars" to create more lift-friendly racks. I did this in my own Lincoln Square apartment building with two bars mounted vertically on either side of a post supporting the back balconies.  Just don't include the toilet :) You can use lad pipe and elbow joint as well.  I got the idea from the front of The Handlebar!

Pretty clever. Do you have a larger photo?

I am 5' 1' and have a touchy cuff and have no issue removing or setting my Jamis on the hook. In fact the stretch feels good before and after a ride.
