You are very observant, Lisa. Yes, I was. I am finally to the point where I am not a harm to myself, can start with not too much wiggle and can hold a quasi-straight line ... all without training wheels. The past few weeks made me feel like I was five again and my brother Al was pushing me along until I finally figured out the balance thing. Whee.

Are you riding your new wheels?

weather was awful this morn so didn't ride.  jk!  rode and it was awesome.  shorts and long sleeve.  coulda short sleeved it but couldn't find said article of clothing.  no wind noticed.

So jealous of Gene's commute pics. I am going to start taking pics of broken glass, taillights and garbage. :)

You always find interesting stuff on the street.  I find lots of odd car parts.  I've seen a few rod caps, and another time I scored one of those big external odometers from a bus.

that would be cool to see pics of broken glass and trash and junk.  if there isn't a thread for posting pics of road trash from commutes there should be.  I occasionally see bumpers lying around.

I was inspired to write this poem because of this mornings ride.  Other than this I have nothing else to share with you this morning.

It is titled,

Headwind

headwind, headwind,

go away,

try to blow

some other way

the end

Headwind you filthy explitive.
May you turn to tail and
make me speedy for my ride home

Can I eat more cake now? Thanks headwind.

Ha! Water is too cold for the geese!

I have to confess, I totally forgot to report something... I just remembered now...  Im gonna call 311 or whatever... there was an open man hole, near the bike lane, on Lawrence, just west of Broadway, northside of street.  there was no construction of sign or anything... hope no one falls into it.
