Gene welcome back!  I was beginning to get withdrawal shakes.

how was riding today Gene?

Those airborn biting bugs were brutal along the lakefront. I felt okay riding in the shade, but it seemed 10 degrees hotter in the sunlight. I was out for 2 hours from 9:30 to 11:30. When I got home I was still sweating a half-hour later. Drink liquids ... constantly. If you go to the lakefront tonight, use insect repellant.

Brave, Gene.  I went out for 40 minutes at 7:00 and it was already hot then.

I was very tempted to go in the water, but leaving my pack and camera on land forced me to keep going.

We had planned to bike to Evanston to watch a movie, but decided against it. Seems like that was a good choice with the temperature hitting 100 by noon.
No need to put yourself in danger if you don't have to
Today's ride made Adam salty. I should have got up earlier.

I had an abbreviated day at work.  9.46 miles each way, went in at 10:15, and decided to head out at 12:40 as the temp just kept rising.  Definitely very toasty.  Water is a must today.  Temp on my porch in Edgewater said 105.9 when I got home.  Fun that the first message on this thread talks about riding in the cold.  Ahh....cold.
