My vent is that the rains have kept me off the Des Plaines River Trail this season. It's my favorite trail and this rain will make it muddy plus close the underpasses.
But this afternoon's rain felt sooooo good after this morning's humidity.

I happened to be out in the heaviest parts of the last two storms. It sucked, but after a few minutes it's not that bad. I'm just rocking a bike poncho, shorts and shoe covers and didn't all that wet.
Other than removing my fun rides, hasn't stopped me at all. In fact I enjoy buzzing by traffic knowing I look like a BA at stop lights with water running down my glasses.
At least I think I look like a BA......
It has been a very wet August!
Good precaution any time it rains. If you are not VERY familiar with a particular pothole, or if there's standing water and you can't see what the bottom looks like, it's a very good idea NOT to ride through it. I know some folks who ended up with bad injuries when they rode through puddles that obscured nasty craters. Better to arrive uninjured at your destination.

Watch out for flooded hidden pot holes in the road/trail. Don't end up going over your handlebars into the water/mud.
Raining (again) heavy at 11:15am Tuesday morning. Flood warnings. Groaning ! !
