My husband just recovered one bike at the garage in the building next to ours. Guess which one? You got it - Huffy. The cop talked to them - they just cover for each other. Obviously they are lying about getting it from a kid in the subdivision 5 min away from ours. What kid? We don't know his name. We don't know where lives. We don't speak English well.

Huffy does one thing well -sell a very cheap bike. I won't call it affordable since if it is actually ridden it will become very expensive over time due to the fact they don't stay tuned because the parts are very cheap. Many of the components are non-standard and therefore WHEN something breaks it'll often cost more to replace a whole assembly with a real bike part than a new Huffy costs to buy new.

But Huffy knows that the average bike bought in a department store will only be ridden a few times before it is tossed into the back of a garage and forgotten -so in that case it probably is cheaper in the end than buying a real bike that is designed to go more than 100-200 miles in its service lifetime.

They really are disposable bikes -but for a loaner bike it might be a good way to go if you aren't sure it'll ever get returned.
Lots of information. Yeah, Hu…tag:thechainlink.org,2012-10-06:2211490:Comment:6030402012-10-06T20:40:42.617ZLena Burkuthttps://thechainlink.org/profile/LenaBurkut

Lots of information. Yeah, Huffy is not the bike I would consider for a commute or the trail riding. I am a part of their Moms on Bikes program and for somebody who wants to starting riding a bike to the grocery store, this one is good enough (and cheap). I do wish they put money into the functionality instead of the looks (it is pretty)

James BlackHeron said:…

Told my husband to list our bikes in the registry and he did set the alerts on Craigslist. I almost freaked out this morning - I thought I saw the Huffy listed, woke my husband up and he said that wasn't it. :(

I am letting him sit on it I am freaking out way too much watching it. And I feel like every other bike sold there is stolen.
