Subject: Briefing Report: 18 September 2012
*         On 17 September 2012 @ 1443 hours responded to a bicycle
theft in progress at the College of Dentistry (801 S. Paulina - 940 bldg.).
During the response a flash message describing two males riding
specially described bicycles eastbound on Polk St. from Ashland Ave.
UICPD observed suspects fitting the description of the wanted
offenders at 724 S. Laflin.  The suspects were stopped and the witness
to the original theft was brought to the scene where the suspects were
positively identified as the offenders.  A search incident to arrest
recovered bolt cutters (burglary tools).  The offenders were charged
with Theft.   The Investigation Unit and COPS officers are assigned to
identify the ownership of the stolen bicycles.

Lt. Nee, Honorable Mentions are awarded to Officers Chiczewski and
Robinson for the above action.
