Those pletscher racks are real practical. I took a long bolt, cut off the head and threaded both ends. Makes for a simple and very low cost solution:<br />

Yeah it is simply a block of walnut. The cutout was or the nut and a flange that the "brake" bridge had. There were three holes in the bridge to begin with. Just make sure you use a hard wood and long enough screws that have a good bite to them and it will be plenty stable.<br />

I have a similar issue getting the same rack onto my '68 Racer. I'm gonna have to make my own mounting bracket and this helps me think about what I'm gonna do.<br />
