Harrison Street bridge completely closed

The Harrison Street Bridge over I-90/94 (The Kennedy), between Halsted St. and DesPlaines St. will be closed while the Illinois Department of Transportation performs construction work on the Circle Interchange.
Lane Reduction on Halsted Street bridge
Starting Monday, February 2 and until September
The Halsted Street bridge over I-290 (The Eisenhower) will be reduced to one lane in each direction while the Illinois Department of Transportation performs construction work on The Circle Interchange. Detours will also be in effect and encouraged.
Cross-posted to the Chicago Bike Guide. I think Van Buren Street is the best alternative to Harrison. Morgan remains closed until April. After Morgan and Halsted are completely done, IDOT will completely replace the Peoria Street pedestrian bridge making dramatic improvements based in part on my and Ryan's Peoria Street Pedestrian Street campaign.
Thanks, didn't know how long the Morgan closure was going to continue. That's been an inconvenience.
Thanks, I'll be adjusting my route to Van Buren.
My destination is the Merit School.... so I was typically getting off the (60) bus further east and taking Peoria....
but much preferred Morgan because it took me past 7-11...
Lately I've been taking the pink line to Morgan instead.
At least I won't have to crane my neck to see if Morgan's open next time I take the 60.

I'd switch to Peoria Street!
If I remember IDOT's drawings for Morgan, they'll be installing buffered bike lanes with two fewer traffic lanes (road diet).
