I have lived in my building for 15 years and for 15 years my (and others) have kept their bicycles in the laundry room. Building management even used to refer to it as the Laundry/Bicycle room and the room had a bicycle rack.

First, management announced that they were remodeling the room and that they needed all bicycles removed to do it. (I was in denial, but in hindsight I saw it coming from a mile away.) Next, when the remodeling was complete, building management posted a note saying bicycles were no longer allowed.

Now I need to find accommodations for my bike, my wife's bike, 2 kids bikes, and 2 trailers.

I'm disappointed in my property management company.

Or I need a new apartment.

Damn, sorry to hear that.  With that many bikes/trailers did you occupy most of the space?

How big is the building?  Is tenant revolt possible?

Was there anything in your lease about using that room for bike storage?

UPDATE: I have been locking my bike across the street in front of the Howard Brown Health Center. U-Lock + 3 cables.  I kept a plastic Target bag over my seat to protect it as best I could.  The bag must have blown away because now someone has stolen my Brooks Saddle. shit-sandwich.

With the next saddle, thread one of those three cables through the saddle rails, that might help prevent saddle theft.
