After (quite literally) walking away from car-ownership five years ago, we experimented with many variations on traveling as a family by bicycle. None have been as transformational as our investment in a cargo bike, allowing us to haul not only our two children, but also groceries, appliances, and even our annual Christmas tree.

That leaning Butchers and Bicycles bakfiet in the fifth photo looks interesting.

Id love a cargo bike but realistically i already have six bikes at my house and dont have room for another, let alone one that big. Plus theyre pricey and wouldnt comfortably fit in any of my usual lock up spots. Plus i have a bike that has a back rack and baskets which handles my everyday cargo needs.
