ATTENTION! Starting point changed!!!

That would be to the brewery/restaurant Horse Thief Hollow, which will have its grand opening this upcoming Monday. They're "soft opening" today, Wednesday the 6th.

Let's meet at the LaSalle Metra station (Financial Plaza entrance) at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 10, and ride to the Horse Thief, or take the train at 10:30, if it's raining. Bring cash in case we will have to take the train, as there is no ticket agent on duty at the station on Sundays.

The forecast for Sunday is "rain showers likely," but temps are promised to be in the lower 40s.

Take a look at the suggested route (just over 15 miles one way).

Depending on the weather and amounts of beer consumed, we can either ride back or take the RI Metra do Downtown at Beverly Hills/103rd Street (just a few blocks from the Horse Thief).

Just started raining. Leaving for the LaSalle station in few minutes.

Yeah, looks a bit rainy. Train it is, then . . . unless forecast is exaggerated :)

I've changed the starting point to LaSalle Metra!

Not to mention ride TO the station, Jared.
Comment by Jared on February 8, 2013 at 10:44pm

We could still ride the half mile from the station to the brewery, its even uphill I believe.

I will probably have to go to work for a couple of hours early in the morning, but my work is just a couple of blocks from the LaSalle station. I'm totally OK for the train option, if weather is bad.

As for the route, I have no idea what's wrong with Archer. I'm open for suggestions.

I have asked, though, Anne Alt, who lives in Beverly, about that route, and moved it way west per her advise. She didn't say anything about Archer.

Anyway, if we use Metra, Archer becomes rather academic, eh?

The weather doesn't look very promising, though, at least, it will not be cold. Bike or train?

Metra option, in case of bad bad bad weather: 10:30 from LaSalle St Station, arriving to Beverly/103rd by 11 a.m.

Ja, Herr Panzerkampfwagen . . . One trick pony has been stolen.

Deet, you can take a train. Actually, if weather is real bad, I'm going to ride Metra both ways.

it is looking like i will be able to make it, but i am a little concerned about the 80% chance of rain.
