Friends and Family of Hector Avalos, the 28 year old culinary student and ex-Marine killed on the Near West Side by a drunk driver on December 6, 2013, are organizing a fund raising event which will feature:

Home-made T-shirts

Safety pamphlets

Bike-related raffle

Entertainment by DJ Lucent, DJ DelaCutti, Spingold, and Run and Punch

$5 Suggested donation.

"The fundraiser is for our friend Hector Avalos, whom was fatally hit while cycling his way home by a drunken driver. The fundraiser is going to be held at Juniors Bar, 2058 W Cermak Rd, Chicago, IL from 8p-2a after the Chicago Critical Mass ride on December 27. It's not only a fundraiser to help support his family as the trail of the accused continues, but also to raise bike safety awareness."
