Description

To the North!

Meet at the Linden CTA station at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th.

Ride around 18 miles to the Lake Bluff Brewing.

Then some 8 miles to ZümBier in Waukegan (Larry the owner is expecting us to arrive around 2 p.m.).

From there—19 miles to Public Craft Brewing and Rustic Road Brewery in Kenosha (these two just few blocks apart).

Metra back to Chicago. We will probably not make 6:49 p.m. train; unfortunately, the next (and last) train departs at 10:20 p.m. Well, more time to enjoy the Bier (and maybe music at the Rustic) . . .

Overall distance: approximately 45 miles.

Average speed: 10 to 12 mph.

Trails: Green Bay, Robert McClory Bike Path and Kenosha County.

The usual: don't forget water, snacks, spare tubes, sunscreen, etc.

Comment by Serge Lubomudrov on July 22, 2013 at 12:07pm: Yep, it was a disappointment, but, at least with two positive results: we still got a growler of rather appropriately named Long Way IPA from Rustic, and we didn't have to wait until the 10:20 train from Kenosha. The said IPA has been consumed on the 6:49 train ;)
