The Ride of Silence is a free ride, hosted in hundreds of cities worldwide, that aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for those who have been killed or injured.

This year's 12-mile Ride of Silence route will end at Damen & Wellington - the location of Liza Whitacre's Ghost Bike, leaving from Daley Plaza and passing

* Clint Miceli's bike on LaSalle
* Blanca Ocasio and Mandy Annis's bikes at Kedzie and Armitage
* Jepson Livington's bike at Diversey and Avers
* Tyler Fabeck's bike at Western and Logan Blvd.
* Liza Whitacre's bike at Damen and Wellington (concluding words will be spoken)

This year for the first time ever we will host a post-ride gathering (optional) for those who want to meet after the Ride.

The post-ride gathering will be at the Lillstreet Art Center (on the rooftop deck - weather permitting) across from the 1,000 Ghost Bike Monument.

We will be selling buttons (small 1.25-inch and large 3-inch RoS buttons available!) on the night-of the Ride as a means of fundraising. Donations are also welcome.
If you'd like buttons sooner, please contact Elizabeth (organizer of the Chicago RoS).

Please spread the word. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/pace-of-chicago/2010/05/the-ride-of-silence.html

awesome -- we should officially have a "vehicle" for the banner... now for a means of attaching said banner... I forgot my zip ties...
3 pedicabs responded positively - whichever we can attach it to...

THANK YOU!

I will be there at Eternal Flame about an hour early with a vehicle which is capable of carrying the banner.
