As recall, last year the mass, or at least the part of it I was in, turned east on 39th/Pershing and took that straight to MLK. That will cut out six turns at least.
Its a little late for this month but how bout this thought when we have a s...ton of bikes during the summer months. Have certain intersections where the mass splits off in a couple of ways and rejoins into a large mass at another location. I think that this has been done at some of the 6ways but Im not sure. I know this would be hard to get rolling but if there were maps that showed split offs and regroups it might work. Or to have locations and an approximate time of meeting there. Just a thought.
do we know if the lake shore bike path is cut off cuz of the taste? Just wondering cuz that would make the ride back north a little more difficult

The Earth (Parks) Mass from April is the one I proposed for annual reuse, but the May could be as well.
More plans for updated Bubble mass:

As is, this has over 50 turns in only 15 miles. I'd like to reduce it to less than 24 turns.
Good question, since I planned to come back that way. In a lifetime here I don't remember the lakefront path(s) ever completely blocked along Grant Park, even during Taste or LaLa. Slows to a trickle, some lights, but never closed, and certainly not after midnight, though there may be interesting crowds. We should include LFP Northbound as the optional last leg of route, passing the "Bubble Dance" site!
I seem to remember it being closed around the museum campus but that was because of construction. I think we might have a mini mass for all the north bound riders on LFP

it would be a damn shame to come down to bridgeport without riding by our new bike shop, Blue City Cycles. it's at 32nd and halsted: 3201 south, i believe.

Last June when the mass ended at the 31st street beach. I rode the bike path up to Division before turning West. it was not closed.

Also I went to a concert during taste last year, and the LFP was open.
I would be very surprised to see it closed.
How's this?

Reduced turns by more than half, while increasing length (12.5 to beach, 15.5 complete).
1. Lops top lobe, but does cross river to see Wrigley building. Dearborn bridge north, Kinzie bridge west. bonus of WNBRC familiarity.
2. Simplifies southbound Jewell to Schoen, while retaining bubble/wave route movement.
3. Simplifies Halsted south stretch, and adds Blue City Cycle.
4. Simplifies Filberts/Creek/Dynamics/Armour portion.
5. Turns east at Pershing, ealier than 43rd.
6. Adds UIC ("Bubbling Brains"). Adds skate park near beach. Adds trains at start/end.
7. Adds long optional last LFP northbound leg, past "Bubble Dance" historic site, Buckingham Fountain, and "The Bubble" (aka "The Bean").
8. Includes possible en-route truncations, and points of possible cross-over if mass is long enough. Longest single stretch is Pershing, about 1.5 miles straight east.
9. Utilizes one-ways.

I plan to bulletin WNBR-C peeps, and may bring leftover bubble necklaces.
Go back North so I do have to ride as far home.......
I've created an offsite page as well for this, which allows the map to be embeded and centralizes info:
ChicagoNakedRide.org/ccm
that bubbles mass last year was the the best of the year, imo. here's another vote for the south side.
