The Chainlink

I heard yesterday of Art Cunningham's Tragic Last Ride on Wednesday.
I knew Art as he intrusted me on working on his Bicycle.
He was a Very kind and All Around Nice Guy.

He passed away on Wednesday as he had a stroke while riding his bike with other fellow cyclists.

"TAKEN FROM THE WHEELING WHEELMENS WEBSITE"

In Memoriam
The Wheeling Wheelmen are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of their good friend and club member Art Cunningham. Over many years as a club cyclist, Art contributed in many ways as a ride leader, board member, active volunteer and strong cyclist. He was always generous and cheerful. Not all of Art's miles counted for club miles but his character and personality made all our club miles count double.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family.

Ride Forever Art!

Art was one of the nicest people in the world. He would have been 80 years old on Saturday. When my time comes, I hope I too am doing something I love.

Art was leading is Wednesday morning "Rides of a Different Flavor" which explored the many bicycle trails throughout the entire Chicago metropolitan area. Consistent with Art's friendly manner, these rides were co-listed on the Wheeling Wheelmen Bicycle Club and the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club schedule of rides. Whether 1 or 20 other riders showed up, Art was ready to lead.
