Breaking news: Bicyclist killed by truck on Northwest Side Chicago

Police were releasing no details regarding the death of a bicyclist hit by a truck this morning in the Kilbourn Park neighborhood.

The woman, age 28, was riding a bicycle when she was hit by a truck about 10:40 a.m. near Cicero and Belmont avenues, said Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.

The woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Ursitti said.

News Affairs had no other information it was releasing as of 7:20 p.m., including whether the driver of the truck was cited or charged in the incident.

The cyclist is identified as Barbara Eno in this story, but there's no more detail about the crash.

Authorities ID cyclist struck and killed by truck

Authorities have identified the 28-year-old bicyclist who was struck and killed by a truck Thursday morning in the Portage Park neighborhood.

Barbara Eno of the 4000 block of West Addison Street, was hit just after 10 a.m. near the intersection of Belmont and Cicero avenues, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 51-year-old man driving a Kenwoorth W900 truck was turning right from northbound Cicero Avenue to eastbound Belmont Avenue when people started waving at him, and he realized he hit something.

It would appear that this collision is what is known as a "right hook" bicycle crash.
