Do you want your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother to join you on your rides, but keep hearing "I can't ride on the street", "I don't want to wear those funny clothes", "My bike does not fit me and it is not comfortable to ride", (fill in other responses here)?  Women Bike Chicago can help!

Two things:

1)  the Second Annual Day of Dialogue and Demonstrations is scheduled for April 12, 2104 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Dvorak Park, 1119 W. Cullerton, Chicago (Pilsen)

Chainlink Event here.

Eventbrite registration here.

2) We could use some help getting the word out to women who want to learn about cycling for transportation and recreation.  Would you be willing to bring flyers to your ward office, your local library branch, bike shops near you, health clinics near you, or any other place you can think of that might attract the ladies?  Jennifer James is going to be at Rapid Transit, 1900 W. North Avenue on Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. with flyers for anyone who wants to stop by to pick some up.

Questions, let us know. Thank you for your support!

Bumping this to remind anyone who wants to help us get flyers out to meet Jenn at Rapid Transit, 1900 W. North Ave, tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m.

I will probably attend and maybe even volunteer. :)

I also have trouble with finding brakes that are small enough on dropdown bars. I've been thinking about getting a road bike with drops for a long now. Perhaps I will learn about it here...

I have drop bars and am super small.  You can take a look at my road bike.  Blvd Bikes on Kedzie was super helpful helping me.

Julie, although you are shorter than I am, I think you are longer in the torso while I am longer in the legs.  Our bike fits seem pretty different!

Yvonne, do come and volunteer.  There should be a few bikes for you to try out while you are there!

Hey Lisa, Let me know if Legacy can help out in any way. We can bring out a couple of our bikes, the new test ride fleet will be together by then.

And as a bonus, the Extra Small size you test rode last summer will be outfitted with a belt drive, fenders and rack by then.

Levi,

Thanks!  I will be in touch.  I bet there are some ladies who would love your bikes. But you are going to have to leave your wife with the bikes! :-)

I plan on attending, however I have plans at 2:30 so I would have to leave around 1:30/1:45 to get to my destination (safely)

I would also love to volunteer in any way!

Sent you a friend request.  Looking forward to meeting you.
