It's friggin summer outside!!

Other than a couple of spots that were a little icy from the snow melt, a lovely ride.  My bike seems to be working better than it did when it was zero! :-)

The runners are out in force on the LFT. I normally don't mind them, but with the path narrowed due to accumulated snow and puddles of uncertain ice content, it can be hard negotiating passage with them. It can also be tricky with some of the path damage - the whole Burnham Harbor area is going to start seeing some real crashes as traffic becomes denser with people who don't know what to expect, I fear.

Ah, well - it looks like we'll get another snap of colder weather soon that will scare the runners off for a bit longer.

Had a nice ride early this morning, the roads were definitely in better shape than the sidewalks.  I saw a few ninja runners on the street when it was still dark out.

It's been a couple of weeks since I've been out and the potholes have multiplied!  Parts of Lincoln are pretty bad.

I was stopped on Wells at the light at Ohio (I think), and saw a cop car facing me on Wells.  I was wondering if he was waiting for red light runners and sure enough he caught a BMW that blew through that light.  He got a thumbs up from me.

Ninjas.  who needs em.  my ride was fine this morning, just more potholes and the crumbly crud that used to be hidden below the edges of plowed snow.  its like a mini collection of road trash lining the curbs.  More oily rainbow sludge splashing onto my boots too.  Last night especially... reminded me I should get some of those water proof covers that slip over your feet for this splashy mess season... I think Rivendell has em.  forget what theyre called.

Potholes!!  *shakes fist*

Milwaukee between Western and Damen was very... exciting.

Yeah, I can tell already that we're going to have a banner year for potholes. Ugh.

Today was my first ride since falling so hard I thought I broke ribs in December. I'm tired but it feels AMAZING. Everything is loose and there's a mellowness to it that's going really well with a post-dinner whiskey. What a great feeling.
After work I rode for about three hours. Felt great to mentally remove myself from commuting and just enjoy the ride.

I biked to the lakefront and ran for a half hour. Glorious..so great  to run outside.

for someone that biked though almost the entire winter riding without heavy gloves and three layers was a joy!

Who's putting on the scuba gear this morning?

Agreed. The weather report I watched made me expect something worse than usual.

My ride was not too bad, except that the huge puddles, numerous potholes, and heavy traffic seemed to add up to a bad "aura" for drivers during this morning's commute.
