I'm facing the same grind - but we're gonna be so fit when its time to break out our real bikes again.

I know this has been said before, but pushing a 40lb Divvy bike into head win is a hell of a work out. I got more burn than on my fixed gear. Roads were fine and many of the bike lanes are starting to finally clear.

I meant "to". Too often I type without thinking.

I am still hibernating, but did you mean "to hell with the roads" or "the roads were too much like hell"? :-)

I did get out today - a too hell with the roads day.

-8℉ Not too shabby. :-)
I've told myself that tomorrow will be the day I miraculously rise from my winter hibernation. Temperatures start to moderate, and the long term trend is positive.

A new low for me this morning. It's funny how 5 degrees doesn't seem too bad once you've got 15; turns out the same is kind of true for -5, relative to 5. I'm overdue for a major tune-up, though.

Looking forward to the warmer temps later this week.

Not too bad this morning, basically same as yesterday.  Same slight headwind as I traveled north along Clark into E-town.  I counted 5 other CYCLISTS, evenly spread throughout the commute.  Represent-sent.  I love wearing my ski goggles in this temp.  my face is so comfy with them and my two balaclavas.  Only one car got frisky with me this morning.  dork.  lovely ride all together.

I need to do this.  Three weeks off the bike...

Shitty ride today. Had a scary-close call with a motorist that turned into a traffic stopping yelling match after I punched the car.

Other than that, great day for a ride.

I have been feeling really down because of not riding for about 6 weeks except for short trips. Made it 9 miles to work today along ChiLFT, huffing and puffing the whole time. Was passed by all of the 5 or 6 southbound people mentioned by rwein5 above, along with the 1 northbound person. At one point I was even passed by a runner, which was completely demoralizing. But I made it and enjoyed myself the whole way! Forgot how to dress, though, and was way too warm!

Nice! I divvied it today and I was going so slow I would have been passed  by a jogger if I saw one. I was mostly on Lincoln and Wells which don't tend to be jogging paths, at least past 9am.

Sorry you had to deal with that.  I'm assuming the car should have given you more space.  How dare you punch something that is about to kill you, or hit you, or make you fall onto the asphalt...
