I had been using DriveLessLiveMore.com, which is now defunct, to track my bike/train commutes to work and it has been a great motivator for me to keep it up, especially in the winter. Does anyone know of any alternatives to tracking their commutes? I noticed some other cities have similar programs, such as the Twin Cities, but you have to be local to use them.

I happen to also be a member of US Masters Swimming, which provides a Fitness Log (FLOG) capability on their website. This allows me to track multiple types of exercise, including my riding. So, if you have some other fitness-y affiliation, that might be an option.

A quick Google search suggests that http://bikecommutechallenge.com/ might fit the bill as well.

I use RunKeeper to track my rides. It uses the GPS on a smartphone to plot your ride on a map, and has excellent methods of analyzing the data on their website.

I use MapMyRide

Did that website have some special commute-related features that were unlike the other hundred services designed to track workouts?

A possibility of a free prize every month.

The http://bikecommutechallenge.com/ looks like it is the closest thing to DriveLessLiveMore.com. The neat thing about DriveLess was that it gave a complete picture of your commuting habits by letting you track car/train commutes and even if you worked from home. It helped me get a full sense of how often I was doing one or the other, complete with detailed statistics for each type of commute.

Another vote for Runkeeper, but it looks like MapMyRide and others offer similar functionality.

So it's like gamification of commutes to promote good societal habits. What a great idea!

Stringing the words "drive less live more" together seems to be some sort of trigger for you.

The League of Illinois Bicyclists has a bicycle mileage log, at http://www.leepirtle.com/lib/milelog.  It's not exactly the same, but it can be a fun way to keep motivated.  We've generally had 150-200 users log 300-400K miles per year.
