Sounds like a good deal!

Surely a great price for a dynamo wheel build plus instruction!

Great idea. Most people may want to build a wheel that fits their bike (rim style, color, hub choice, etc), so be flexible.

Great idea and awesome deal. Will try to get one of those 4 spots!

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Duppie, I included both 700 (2 widths) and 26 in the default options, but might have to make it clearer that upgrades and substitutions will be available.

The class is a good idea.  I hope that I can make it, because I am in need of a good hub generator wheel myself.  You already make good bikes, so I am sure this will be an awesome opportunity.

Just wanted to let everyone know what last call for signing up for the class is this coming monday 1/13. I have a few spots remaining.

For those looking for an affordable disc option, I am checking daily on a reliable supply for the hub. Other, premium disc hubs are still an option.

This is a great value. I love my dynamo light – it's very bright, I leave it on at all times, and it's secure on my bicycle so I don't have to remember to remove it if I leave my bike alone.

I would do this if I didn't already have dynamo hubs on the bikes I ride!

That sounds like a really great deal, and a great service to the Chicago biking community and to Chainlinkers.

For those wondering about flexibility in hub and rim choice, this will inevitably cause the number of possible needed spoke lengths to be necessary have on stock for the class to become an issue.  This would create much more work and expense for those putting on the class.

Not necessarily. You decide on hub and rim upfront, and order all parts before class starts. That is how WTB does their wheelbuilding classes.

But whatever gets more dynamo hubs on the road works for me. I love them.

For people wanting a disc brake option, I have been waiting for stocking info on the SRAM hub I have on my bike, but looks like it won't come in in time. The next option available is the Ird Zero Drag Generator Hub (switchable on and off), which would add $40 to the cost of the class. This hub is also available in non-disc for the same price.

I will be ordering spokes cut if they are a funny length and I don't have the box quantity.

Are you a local dealer/supplier of the IRD hubs?  How can you offer this hub in the class (even the non-disc version) for the same price as the Sanyo?  I assume you are using the H27 for the normal build.
