Yes.  Normal rain gear.  Light rain, 65 degrees.  Nice ride.

Patience is key; an extra one count after the light turns green, etc.

Just to the train. I left the house about 6:30. Aside from the rain it seemed exceedingly dark. I wouldn't have felt all that safe riding in those conditions.

Could this be considered a Freudian slip?  (emphasis added)

Last night and today made me really glad I want nuts on lights. I commute to O'Hare on a recumbent, so it can get pretty "dark and scary," and visibility can be an issue with a 'bent. A pair of NiteRider 650's up front, with a Pro1500 headlamp up front, with a pair of Solas, 3 red reflectors (and red/white DOT tape) on a safety triangle, and an illuminated 5' flagpole seem to do the trick.  May attract UFOs, but lets the cagers know where I am.  Nice thing about a headlamp is that you can point it at problems, or move your head to draw attention.

If not a lightweight, low-spoke wheel and it isnt out of true enough to cause brake drag you should be fine.  Try not to hit any big potholes.

Back in my roadie days it was accepted practice to slightly detension the spoke on either side of the missing one to finish the ride.

Thank you! I might try that... I surprisingly carry a spoke tool (and a wrench) with the hopes of never needing them.

new jacket waterproofness - check.  new gloves waterproofness - check.  third season neos waterproofness - check.  thriftstore $2.00 rain pants waterproofness - check.  head - mostly dry under the bern helmet.  wish i got the fully covered version instead tho.

It rained this morning? It was dry by the time I left for work around 7:45.

Yeah my bern has holes too. Would have been nice. last night to have the covered one too...
