OK - it's Friday (TGIF btw) and I am going to unload a M_A_J_O_R VENTra...I got my card in the mail; followed the instuctions to activate it (very poor btw) and received a message that 'my card is already activated' (wtf). OK - I'll play along. I do not know the access code (never set it up - do-h); cannot log in to retrieve it (two strikes for you), so I call the "toll free" number (what a joke); and to speak with someone about it I am told
(with a very cheery female voice (oh spare me honey) "your wait time will be approximately 26 minutes". yeah right. like I have NOTHING better to do than sit on hold
and listen to this nauseating music (good thing I collect barf bags from southwest airlines (now THERE is a company with awesome customer service btw - can you say capitalism with a KAPITAL SEE?????). VENTRA darling - you get a BIG FAT F- in my grade book. I am flushing this lovely little card down the toilet. Oh wait - i will use my handy dandy "pick puncher" and make some nice guitar picks out of you; it was nice knowing you. and why do I hate the CTA ??? let me count the ways. When I get even a B+ from my customers I have to meet with them to see what ever I can do to change that grade to an A+.
OK - I feel SO much better now...TGIF

Finally got my Ventra card on Thursday, activated my Ventra card this morning without any problems & my CC+ balance showed up on my Ventra card in about 2 minutes.
I liked
Ventra Chicago @chicagoventra 23h
Ventra's website will undergo maintenance this week! And here I bet you thought we only fixed things that weren't broken, like Chicago Card.
I haven't activated my card yet. Will be using my Chicago Card for a couple trips this weekend because I know it works.

My personal favorite:
Chicago Card and Chicago Card Plus users: Welcome to
#Ventra! Where the benefits, like our debit card fees, are hidden.
Rich S said:There's a fake Ventra twitter handle that's pretty funny and will help everyone at least get a few giggles out of this mess.

Some of my favorites:
Activating your #Ventra Card is easy! Simply visit our website, enter your Card number, douse your hair in gasoline and light it on fire!
Have you considered walking? #Ventra
Can't find your #Ventra access code? Just call 888-824-8802, select your language, then cry uncontrollably until you are disconnected!
Has anyone else noticed an inordinate amount of magnetic strip fare card machines that are suddenly "out of order"? I was at 5 different train stations yesterday and my experiences were as follows;
1. Machine being serviced- attendant let me on for free.
2. Display read "coins only".
3. Machine "out of order".
4. Machine "out of order".
5. Machine "out of order".
*Note to CTA, re; new fare card system that we didn't need-
"Go *!#$ yourselves."
My CCP card balance is still not transferred. But using my CCP card, a bus trip now cost $1.50, instead of the usual $2.00.
Welcome back 1997!
Does that mean that the tokens will return as well?
Here are instructions on how to activate your card when you did not receive the email, and do not want to call 877-NOW-VENT.

Gopher, consider yourself lucky.
Duppie, I'm with you, 13 days. I should try using the CCP. When you log into your CCP account, what balance does it show there?

Just read through the 8 pages of replies to the OP & this forum topic explains why the unopened envelope w/ the new card is still sitting in my book-bag; I knew it was going to be a semi-hot mess. Now, to ensure that nothing is missed or messed up, I have to take time out to sit down & read thru all the info in that unopened envelope and on the web site - UGH!
The current balance is shown. I was hoping to draw it down to close to zero, but the auto-reload function can no longer be changed, so I will never be able to get it to zero.

Wait times are still long, but appear to be going down. This morning, it said 25 minutes. That's a change from the mid to upper 30's wait time of last week.
16 days and counting.
Wait times are up again. In fact they have become so long that you no longer get to talk to a Customer Service Rep. Instead some high-school drop out to whom I had to repeat my issue numerous times before he wrote it down correctly, takes down your information and promised that a CSR will get back to me within 48 business hours.
I am not holding my breath.
After 19 days my balance got finally transferred. They indeed got back to me within 48 hours and said that a few accounts had issue transferring balances.
On the downside, my RTA Transit Benefit Card that I received and activated turns out to be just another funding source for my Ventra card for now. Until Ventra allows registration as 3rd party credit cards, I won't be able to get the transfers etc, when using the CTA.
