The Chainlink

Trek has voluntarily issued a safety recall on 2009 model-year 7300, 7300 WSD and 7500 bicycles. An issue with the SPA forks on these models was identified,
which could cause the fork to come out of alignment with the handlebars while riding,
allowing the front wheel to turn unexpectedly.

ONLY bicycles with the serial numbers WTU001 through WTU096_XXXXD and WTU221 through WTU365_XXXXD
are part of this recall.

All others are not affected by the recall.

Trek has already repaired some models prior to shipping to bike shops. If your fork has a red plug on the underside of the steerer tube then it has already been repaired and is not part of the recall. If not, take your bike to your Trek dealer.

If you aren't sure if you own one of the affected bikes, please bring it in to a Trek dealer so that it may be inspected by a qualified mechanic.

Trek will be contacting by mail those owners affected by this recall who have registered their bikes online.

Do not ride your bike until this check has been done.
For additional information, contact Trek toll-free at 800-382-2453.
