Join us as we return to the northwest suburbs, home to Chicagoland's largest Japanese expat community, in a continuing quest to find the region's best ramen noodle soup. Ramen Misoya, the area's only freestanding, dedicated ramen shop, part of a global Japanese chain, recently opened in Mount Prospect in the former Torishin space, and has been garnering rave reviews. Before dining there, we'll make a stop at Tensuke Japanese supermarket in nearby Elk Grove Village to stock up on groceries and sample their sushi. After dinner, we'll ride a few more miles to catch Metra back to the city from the Mount Prospect station.
Here's a rough draft of the route - I'll tweak it to make it a little more bike-friendly: http://goo.gl/maps/rRWZb
Here's the schedule:
3:00 pm: Meet at the Logan Square pillar, departing at 3:15, bike 20 miles to Tensuke Market. If time permits, we can take a quick spin around Busse Woods forest preserve, across from Tensuke.
6:00 pm: Shopping and sushi at Tensuke.
7:15 pm: Bike 3 miles to Ramen Misoya.
7:30 pm: Dinner at Ramen Misoya.
9:00 pm: Bike 3 miles to Mt. Prospect Metra.
9:37 pm: Catch train home.
10:23 pm: Train arrives at Ogilvie Center.
