Longshot-- anyone have a gel glove that they're really really happy with?

I have a 14 year old patient who has some congenital defects and resultantly has pain in both palms when doing handstands and similar cheerleading/tumbling moves. I don't have much for this sort of problem in my own toolkit so I thought I'd start with off the shelf products that might provide a solution.  Anyone here had good experience with gel gloves, or otherwise gloves that offer an above-average amount of padding, and can make a specific brand recommendation?

(start thread sinking process.... now)

Spenco gloves have a lot of padding (https://shop.spencocycling.com/default.aspx)

Is the nature of her pain medial or ulnar?

cycling gel gloves can dampen vibration but too much/too thick can exacerbate nerve entrapment.

may want to consider:

Thanks-- took a look but will look further. Have you seen these for sale in brick and mortars?

Excellent link, thank you!

On one hand, her pain is due to an area of scarring  and probable neuroma where one of her metacarpals was removed (the rest of the finger was absent so they decided to close the gap.) On the other, she unfortinately was born without thenar musculature, so there's not much padding protecting the bones in the radial side of the palm.
(edit-- to clarify that on the one hand and on the other is meant literally...)

Cool; padding is one thing, but trick is in not having something not too squishy where it makes it more difficult to stabilise the hand and wrist, especially if she is lacking musculature surrounding the bones.

For example, a cycling glove pad is designed to relieve pressure on the Carpal Tunnel (with a gap between the pads in that area) however many have too much padding over the Guyon canal area. There is rarely any padding in the metacarpal and 3rd MCP joint. That's why I wonder if a cycling glove is the best solution for her.

I can't remember where I've seen it, but 'intelligent' foams may work too: soft and pliable yet harder upon impact. http://www.xionpg.com/specs  She can grasp/articulate the hand but get firm padding upon hitting the ground?

i went to the Spenco site and it seems that most sizes of most gloves are out-of-stock. The copyright at the bottom of the page was 2010. Are they still in business? Are there any local shops that carry them?
