I had them cutting those cables in 12 seconds and 9 seconds, respectively. Anyone else?

Congrats on the recovery! (Hope BOTH bike owners got better locks this time!)

I guess I've spent more time playing with the video than actually watching it. Does more than one theft occur?

The victim (victor!) was sent a link to this thread, so I'm sure your advice won't go unnoticed :-)

Fucking hoodie in July!

It actually was very cool that day. The following morning I went to help with a neighborhood event and ended up not being able to stick it out because I hadn't brought a jacket and hat.

Hi Sarah, thanks for the comment. It was my blue bike that was stolen in the video, and I did indeed purchase a better lock.

I'm surprised it took that long.

One doesn't truly understand how silly cable locks are until one actually cuts a cable lock with bolt cutters. It's incredibly quick and easy.

All those oddball, one of a kind bikes that get stolen where you think "it's so unusual it has to turn up"... and they never do...

Well, this one did.

And on that note...

I saw someone puttering down the sidewalk yesterday on one of those bikes with the giant tires... I've searched Surly Pugsley and Pug-Ops and Moonlander-- are there other brands/models of this type of bike?

The Fat Bike "fad" has extended to WalMart and Target Department store iterations. Huffy, Mongoose, etc. Starting at $199. No ups. No extras.
