Suspicious CL post

This post sets off a few "stolen bike alarms." Checked bike registry, but nothing matching.

(1) Schwinn didnt make a Madison in 2004.

(2) Price

What is the threshold here for making such an allegation?

Price seems fine to me. If I had a bike like that I wouldn't expect I could get even that much for it. If you are accustomed to paying more you should get out of Hipsterville once in a while. I am offered bikes like that for free and I turn them down because it is just too much work to sell them.

I dont know what the threshold is or if there has to be one, just offering an opinion. You dont have to like it or subscribe to it. It seems weird that someone would list a year that never existed for that model and while the components look new. Madison's werent made till 2006 and look nothing like that.

Madison is a nameplate Schwinn has used since late 80s. They come and they go. Since Schwinn is now merely a commodity brand of Dorel what's in the official catalog hardly matters. If Target or Performance wants a run of Madisons they can have them.

An opinion that walks up to the line of defamation is one you could keep to yourself.
