I haven't but I'm a little concerned about the rack removals; are they going to replace them? As it is in some popular areas around/in downtown, it is hard to find a spot! I like that people are using the bike racks, since it means people are biking, but I never thought I'd have a problem finding a spot to park my bike ;)

So I hope that CDOT is planning on replacing every single rack. I signed up for Divvy for some trips, but I still want to be able to park my bike without too much issue.

Ooooh! Exciting! I see evidence of racks being placed soon. Both on Wells @ Oak and Clinton @ Madison signs appeared on existing bike racks that they will be removed today. Both are June Locations for Divvy...

On Wells @ Oak the bike racks are so dilapidated they should be thrown out. Not sure if they plan to replace them. On Clinton @ Madison (in front of the FFC) the bike racks are likely moved 30 feet south. I saw markings on the ground indicating the new locations.

Anyone else see any signs of activity?

I stopped by Daley Plaza today to check out the Divvy bike that was scheduled to be there, but Divvy either never showed up or left before I got there (around 1:30 pm). I also saw that the event was removed from their website.

Hi Shaun,

It's a great question. Our plan is to relocate all affected bike racks within 1 block of their origin. More bikes is better. :-)

Anyone receive their key in the mail yet? I have been checking every day...

I wish Divvy was in place.  I need to run an errand on the near north side, I don't want to take my bike down to do it, and I don't want to take a bus or cab.  Divvy would be just the ticket!

We are lucky to still have the racks on busses for some trips like this at least until the city and/or Divvy figger out that bus racks cuts into their profit and city remuneration, as in the parking situation, which would spll the end to the racks....

Nonsense.   The Bike Share concept and the Bike on the Bus concept are really mutually exclusive.   Divvy is intended for the last mile.  For very specific situations.   The bike on bus covers a wholly different set of options (and a much broader range of territory).   I use the bus racks, I would never use Divvy.  Not because I oppose it, simply because it doesn't overlap with any of my needs (that and I happen to like riding a more responsive, lighter bike that can travel longer distances).

I want to use Divvy for "the last mile".  The place I need to go is only about a mile and a half away and it does not matter how fast the bike goes.  If I wanted to bring my bike down I would just ride it--not put it on the bus to go a mile and a half!  I think this is exactly what Divvy was intended for. ;-)

Those Divvy stations are popping up like a bunnies. I counted 3 on my way into work this morning, 1 on Wells, and 2 on Clinton. Somebody call rodent control!

Parsing Divvy's data finds 380 stations in five phases.  Do the phases have planned dates?  I'd hope so, but couldn't find specifics.  And why do many of them say zero docks?  Hey Divvy rep, feedback on these?  Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

Those five phases remained from earlier estimates of phasing -- there are no exact dates attached to those phases and they are not altogether accurate.

The plan is for 75 stations in June (which are currently going on the ground), another 75 stations in July, and roughly 150 stations in August. We'll be putting down stations continuously and all stations put on the ground after our launch will go live days later. The remaining stations will be deployed early next year. A zero value in that data just indicates that at the time of that phasing, the exact number of docks were TBD.

Happy to answer any other questions I can.

If some of the data are no longer valid, they should be updated. Few things infuriate a developer more than bad data.
