I will be biking to work – as I do every day – if that's what you mean.

Sorry - I mean any events going on surrounding it?

You're welcome to bike to work with me. :)

Joking aside, I am not aware of any events. As Chicago is special, we do our own bike to work day in June.

we should make our own event :)

Hey Madeline, in Chicago our big Bike to Work celebrations happen in June (we moved them to entice more non-regular bikers...sometimes it's lousy in May).

So, there will be a lot going on June 8-14 in Chicago and suburbs.

www.bikecommuterchallenge.org (plenty of cool pit stops with giveaways and free competition)

www.bikechicago.us (cool events throughout the week)

But, please bike to work Friday!

Best,

Ethan Spotts, Active Trans

PS: I would RSVP and promote your event, of course!

Obviously Le Tour de Shore organizers did not understand the import of our Bike to Work Rally since Le Tour starts at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14.  I have seen listings that say something starts at Daley Plaza at 7:00 a.m. so I might try to pop over there before starting Le Tour de Shore. I will be sorry to miss being on the Plaza with all of the folks who have discovered the joy of biking to work.

I'll be biking to the rally with the Evanston Bike Club next Friday, but I'm not going into work that day--the joy of being a grad student with my advisor temporarily out of town :)

Wait, why ride a bike if you can't be smug about it?  ;)

Depending on how early you're starting on TdS, it's possible to visit both.

thanks Sue.

Lisa - this is true. Just check your bag(s) early in the week for TdS; I will be. Then you don't really

need to be at TdS that early; just be sure to get a route map to see where the SAG stops are and aid stations. Be sure to pick up that cool T-Shirt for bike to work day. Didn't that shirt make a debut at

Bike the Drive ???  I will be at both. getting the camping gear all organized this weekend. Then I believe

the pre-ride gear check for TdS is at Bucktown pub next Wednesday ?

I was planning to check my gear at Bucktown.  Good to know about not needing to be there right at 7:30.  On the other hand, at my pace, the earlier I start the better so I won't be hanging around until the actual rally time! :-)
